The Most Affordable Prebuilt High Performance Gaming PC

CybertronPC Palladium GTX 1060

– Click here to check the price on Amazon
– $999.99 at Newegg

About the CybertronPC Palladium GTX 1060

This model is the least expensive high-performance model that I recommend.

It comes with the latest 7th generation Intel Core i5-7500 CPU. This is a relatively powerful CPU, with four cores (Quad-Core) running at a base frequency of 3.4GHz and a maximum Turbo frequency of 3.8GHz.

While it’s not as powerful as the Core i7 series, don’t be fooled, the performance difference in video games is minimal.

It’s also perfectly capable of handling demanding programs, although for heavy image or video editing, a Core i7 CPU would be wiser.

Gaming performance wise, it comes with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 dedicated graphic card with 6GB of graphic memory, which means it is capable of handling games at 1920 x 1080 (1080p or Full HD), with details at or close to maximum settings in all games.

You get 16GB of RAM, meaning that you can multitask, open a lot of web browser tabs and handle pretty much any program with ease.

You also get a 240GB SSD for better responsiveness and booting speed combined with a 1TB hard drive to store your files and games.

Pros:

  1. Great cost for such a powerful prebuilt Gaming PC.
  2. Great CPU: Intel Core i5-7500 Quad-Core 3.4-3.8GHz.
  3. Great graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 with 6GB of graphic memory.
  4. 16GB of RAM
  5. 240GB SSD that greatly improves responsiveness and booting speed.
  6. 1TB 7,200rpm hard drive for additional storage capacity
  7. Optical drive
  8. 8 USB ports total : 4x USB 3.0 and 4x USB 2.0
  9. 1x Display Port, 1x HDMI and 2x DVI video outputs
  10. Windows 10
  11. Keyboard and mouse are included
  12. Lifetime on Labor warranty & support

Cons:

  1. No Wireless adapter: You can buy an USB adapter, see the ones that we recommend, in the Best WiFi Routers and Best WiFi Adapters article.
  2. No card reader

Worldwide Alternative with Intel i5-7600 CPU

CyberpowerPC Gamer Xtreme

– $cyberatl969.00 at B&H (Worldwide shipping)

This is a great alternative if you live outside the U.S.

You get a slightly more powerful Intel Core i5-7600 Quad-Core CPU and the same great Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 Graphic card with 6GB of Graphic memory.

On the downside, you get 8GB of RAM instead of 16GB. That is still sufficient to not negatively impact gaming performance.

You also get the same amount of storage with a 1TB Hard drive.

On top of that, this model comes with RGB LEDs and a remote that allows you to change the color of the LEDs in your case as you wish.

Compact living room alternative with Intel i5-7400 CPU and 2TB Hard drive

MSI Trident 3

– Click here to see the price on Amazon
– $899.99 at B&H (Worldwide shipping)

This model has a unique compact design which lets you use the desktop as a living room console and makes it easy to carry around wherever you would need it. It can be set up in an horizontal or vertical orientation.

It also comes with a front access VR HDMI port, which is convenient.

You get a latest generation Intel Core i5-7400 CPU, 8GB of RAM and a 1TB Hard drive to store your games.

Instead of getting a Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 with 6GB of VRAM, you get the Nvidia Geforce GTX 1060 with 3GB of VRAM. Even though it offers slightly lower performance, you will still be able to run newer games smoothly at a resolution up to 1920 x 1080, although you might have to slightly turn down visual quality in the more demanding games.

That said, it’s also available in two other higher-end configurations, including one with the 6GB Geforce GTX 1060:
– Intel Core i7-7700, 8GB RAM, GTX 1060 3GB, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD  from Amazon and B&H ($1099.99)
– Intel Core i7-7700, 16GB RAM, GTX 1060 6GB, 256GB SSD + 1TB HDD from Amazon and B&H ($1299.99)

Good value: Geforce GTX 1070 8GB
