Starting this week, once a week, I’ll be posting the best links related to computer hardware that I find on the web. I hope that you’ll find valuable information and that you enjoy this. So let’s get started:

Subnotebooks – As you may know, I’ve been thinking of getting a subnotebook for quite a while now. 2 months ago, I was going for a MSI Wind, then I read about the Acer Aspire One and wanted it instead. Now, I just read about the Lenovo IdeaPad S10 and that looks like an even better choice!

160GB Hard drive, 6 hours battery life, the smallest of all 3, bluetooth, 3 different colors and much more, starting at only $399. With a keyboard at 85% the regular size, left and right click under the touchpad(not on the side!), which is multi-touch.

- Rumors say that Dell is about to release their own subnotebook based on Intel’s Atom. With various configurations, all based on a SSD though, weighting in at only 1kg, it supposed to released by Dell this Friday, August 22nd.

- One very clever blogger mods the Acer Aspire One, twice! She takes the basic version, with the SSD and add a bluetooth receiver to it. But she doesn’t stop there! She then add a 1.8″ HDD to it. With pictures and a clear walk-through, very well done Myriam!

- Tom’s Hardware compares the Intel Atom to AMD new Athlon 64 2000+. The AMD Athlon 64 2000+ beats the Intel Atom 230 in energy consumption and processing power. Each of the systems was based on a desktop platform. The Achilles heel of the Intel system is its old system platform with the 945GC chipset, while AMD offers a more modern 780G platform.

Motherboards – For those of you who wants a system that packs a lot of video games performance, while using a smaller case, DFI introduced a Micro-ATX P45 motherboard with CrossFire support.

Cooling – Here’s the new video card after market cooler from Thermalright, which comes with nothing less than 6 heatpipes and space to install two 92mm fans. Nothing short of amazing cooling performance

Overclocking – X-bit labs take a 9800 GTX, v-mod it and overclock it to its limit, to see if it can get pass the Radeon HD 4870. Great information if you want to mod a 9800 GTX and if you like overclocking in general.

Storage – If you’re looking into new SSD drives and have money to spare, Intel is going to offer insanely fast SSD soon.
