gravatar I’m sure you’ve seen that picture before. What is it? It’s the default picture for someone who isn’t registered with Gravatar.
What is a Gravatar?

“A gravatar, or globally recognized avatar, is quite simply an image that follows you from site to site appearing beside your name when you do things. Avatars help identify your posts on blogs and web forums, so why not on any site?”

Signing up for a gravatar.com account is FREE, and all that’s required is your email address. Once you’ve signed up you can upload your avatar image and soon after you’ll start seeing it on gravatar enabled sites, including Hardware Revolution!

So to have a profile picture on Hardware Revolution and many other Gravatar-enabled websites/blogs, simply follow these instructions:

  1. Go to www.gravatar.com
  2. Sign up for an account for free by entering the e-mail that you use when you comment on this blog and others.
  3. Check the confirmation e-mail.
  4. Once confirmed, go back to gravatar to upload the picture that you want.

That’s all. Now you can go comment on Hardware Revolution and any other Gravatar-enabled blog/website and will see your picture!
How? Simply put in the e-mail used for Gravatar. It’s that simple!

Feel free to comment here to try out your new gravatar =)

A big yes on consulting. I’m guessing your initial rates might be affordable. Perhaps you even believe in the “Linux Philosophy”, free software, then pay for the extras.
