Pictures and specs of the Radeon HD 4650
By Mathieu • Jul 12th, 2008 • Category: NewsChiphell published pictures of the upcoming Radeon HD 4650, as well as a picture of its cooling system.
Equipped with a RV730 which contains 320 stream processors, just like the RV670 that equips the Radeon HD 3800 series, it will allow up to 1GB of GDDR3, linked to the GPU by a 256 bits bus. The biggest difference from the previous generation of ATI’s high-end cards : Fixed ROPs since they are from the RV7xx architecture, which will give you acceptable performance with AA and AF on.
Finally, you’ll notice the lack of a power connector and it should probably be compatible with Quad CrossfireX. We’ll still have to wait to know the clocks, the price and its release date before deciding if this card is worthy of our money.
(Edit) The card will be priced between 129 and 149$, according to sources. My guess is that there will be a 512MB version at 129$ and a 1GB version at 149$.
