For the last two weeks, I’ve been asking you the following question in a poll:

How much will Microsoft charge for a Vista to Windows 7 upgrade?

Nearly half of you wrongly guessed that Microsoft would charge $79 for a Vista to Windows 7 upgrade.

As a matter of a fact, last weekend, Microsoft started to offer Windows 7 upgrades on pre-order:

$49 for Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade

$99 for Microsoft Windows 7 Professional Upgrade

Special editions of Vista include a free upgrade to Windows 7:

If you don’t have Windows Vista, or need a new copy for a PC, yet want Windows 7, but can’t wait for its release on October 22nd 2009, you can now buy special copies of Windows Vista which come with a coupon to upgrade to Windows 7 when it will be released.

Here are the 32 bit and 64 bit versions of Windows Vista that come with the said coupon. Enjoy.
