Welcome to the new Hardware Revolution!
By Mathieu • Jul 21st, 2008 • Category: ArticlesHi there and welcome to the new Hardware Revolution. Welcome back to my regular readers, it’s a pleasure having you here.
During the weekend, the blog was revamped; New homepage, new design, new icons. I think that it looks much better than before, at least, much more professional. Call it v1.2 if you want =)
Changes:

Homepage
On the top left, you have the blog name, with it’s description. Under it, you have the most recent post from the Articles category. Under that, you’ll see the 3 most recent posts from the Best of and Computer Systems categories.
On the right, from top to bottom: The search, to find any term(s) in my posts. Afterward, my favorite part, the “Add me to your favorite services”. Under that section, you’ll be able to add me, or the blog, to all your favorite services! From left to right, top to bottom: Receive posts via RSS Feed, Receive posts via E-mail, My facebook profile, Add this page to Google bookmarks, Add me as a friend on Digg, StumbleUpon, Del.icio.us, Propeller, Add this blog to your favorites on Technorati, add me as a friend on Twitter, Reddit and Mixx! Don’t be shy to add me, or don’t think that it will bother me. Go ahead, you’ll make me really happy =)
Let’s move on. Under that, you’ll find the 3 most recent news, categories and browse archives. Finally, ads from NewEgg and Google.
Now, if you click on a post, let’s take the Radeon HD 4870 X2 Preview as an example. On top, you’ll have the name of the author(There’s only me right now but I’ll have someone to assist me soon, most probably starting in Mid-August) the date that the post was published and the category in which it was published. Under that, you have the post itself.
At the end of the post, you’ll have all the tags associated to that post, as well as a short bio of the article’s author. Under that, you have a box to leave your comment, which is much more visible than before!
On the right, you’ll see the Add me to your favorite services icons, which are the same as I described earlier. Under that, you’ll find a section called “More from this category”, in which appears the ten latest posts from the current post’s category. Under that, you’ll see all the categories, as well as the archives, for posts from previous months. And we finish with ads.
At the bottom of the post, you have the Share button. Just click on it to digg, vote, add to your favorites and share that post with all your friends! You can change the tab on the top to post it on various profiles as well(Facebook, MySpace, Twitter, etc.)
Coming up: So now that I have a new theme for the blog and that I’m satisfied with it, what’s next for Hardware Revolution? First of all, I will complete the Computer Systems page, which will be updated. I will add a drop-down menu for the computer systems, to let you choose between different types of computers(Gaming, Office, etc.) . I’ll update the news with industry news, especially with computer parts. I’ll update a few Best of posts, to reflect new prices/products. I’ll post “The best laptop for your money” type of post, where you’ll be able to find the best laptop for a given price, similar to the The Best Video Card for your money.
Of course, that’s only the tip of the iceberg, the rest is a surprise! So yeah, those are the main changes on the blog, along with what it coming up for Hardware Revolution. I hope that you are pleased with all that! Let me know what you think of it and if you see any bugs/problems, please contact me so I can fix it! Try out that comment section at the bottom of the post!
Enjoy!
