About the HP 22-df0022

This is the least expensive model that I recommend, that offers good everyday performance. Sure, there are slightly less expensive models, but they are either equipped with a low-end CPU, offering anemic performance or only a mechanical hard drive, resulting in a slow, unresponsive system.

This all in one PC offers a modern decent CPU with good everyday performance, enough RAM for basic tasks, a high-end performance SSD storage and a quality Full HD 1080p IPS display, all at a very reasonable price. You also get a mouse and keyboard, as well as a built-in webcam and microphone.

You get a modern AMD Zen architecture based Athlon Gold 3150U 2.6-3.3GHz 2 Cores/4 threads CPU, which is capable of handling everyday tasks such as watching videos, listening to music, running Microsoft Office, e-mails and web browsing.

You get 4GB of RAM, which is fine for web browsing, as long as you don’t open too many tabs. While adding RAM is possible, it is unfortunately not an easy task on this PC.

Finally, you get a relatively high-end NVMe PCIe 256GB SSD for storage, making this PC snappy.

Pros:

  1. Great cost for what this model comes with.
  2. AMD Athlon Gold 3150U Dual-Core + Hyper-Threading 2.6-3.3GHz

About the MSI PRO 22X

This is a great all-around all-in-one for businesses than need a POS (Point of Sale) computer, thanks to its inclusion of a COM serial port, to support bar code scanners or printers that use that port.

The base model is equipped with a modern Intel Core architecture based Pentium Gold 6400 4.0GHz 2 Cores/4 threads CPU, which is capable of handling everyday tasks such as watching videos, listening to music, running Microsoft Office, e-mails and web browsing. Higher-end models are available with a quad-core or a 6 core CPU, capable of handling heavier workloads such as photo editing and heavy multitasking.

The base model only comes with 4GB of RAM, which is fine for web browsing, as long as you don’t open too many tabs. Upgrading the RAM requires removing the back panel. There’s an empty RAM slot, so you can simply add a 4GB DDR4 2666MHz SO-DIMM stick to get 8GB of RAM, or get a 16GB, 32GB or even a 64GB RAM kit in there. The high-end model comes with 8GB of RAM.

It also features a nice sleek design, which looks a lot better than bland black boxes, in my humble opinion. The monitor bezel are very thin.

Despite being a low-cost model, you get a quality 21.5″ Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, with an IPS display panel which offers a vibrant color reproduction, great contrasts and large view angles.

Pros:

  1. Great cost for what this model comes with.
  2. Entry-level model: Intel Pentium Gold 6400 Dual-Core + Hyper-Threading 4.0GHz
  3. Mid-range model: Intel Pentium Gold 6400 Dual-Core + Hyper-Threading 4.0GHz
  4. High-end model: Intel Pentium Gold 6400 Dual-Core + Hyper-Threading 4.0GHz
  5. 21.5″ display with a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution
  6. IPS display panel : vibrant colors, great contrasts and large view angles.
  7. 2 RAM slots: One is occupied by one stick (4GB or 8GB depending on model) and the other RAM slot is empty for easy upgrade
  8. RAM can be upgraded to 64GB (2x32GB)
  9. Entry-level model: 64GB SSD for fast booting and a responsive PC
  10. Top model: 512GB SSD for fast booting and a responsive PC
  11. Entry-level and top model: Empty 2.5″ drive bay allows you to add a 2.5″ SATA SSD or hard drive
  12. WiFi 5 (802.11ac)
  13. Bluetooth 4.2
  14. 6 x USB ports: One Type-C, 3x 3.0 and 2x 2.0 type-A ports.
  15. HDMI video output
  16. 2x RJ-45 Ethernet ports
  17. Very thin screen bezels
  18. Windows 10 Pro
  19. Wired keyboard and mouse are included
  20. SD card reader
  21. HDMI Input
  22. 1 x DE-9/DB-9 (Serial COM port)

Cons:

  1. Entry and mid-level models: Only 4GB of RAM (1x4GB), but you can add more by removing the back panel. There are two RAM slots
  2. Entry-level model only: Only 64GB of storage: With Windows taking a good chunk of that, you’ll want to either add a 2.5″ SSD or hard drive (easy with the access
  3. No built-in webcam
  4. No built-in microphones
  5. No DVD drive

About the MSI PRO 24X 10M-223US

The MSI PRO 24X 10M-223US is similar in design to the MSI PRO 22X 10M-014US recommended above, but you get a larger 23.8″ display. You do lose the COM/serial port, dual LAN and SD card reader though.

CPU wise, you get four cores and a very high maximum Turbo frequency, up to 4.9GHz, resulting in a more responsive PC. A quad-core/8 threads CPU is still plenty powerful enough for everyday tasks.

You also get 16GB of RAM and much more storage, thanks to the combo of a 512GB SSD and a 1TB hard drive.

Pros:

  1. Highly reponsive CPU: Intel Core i7-10510U 4 cores/8 threads 1.8-4.9GHz
