About the MSI PRO 24X 10M-046US 23.8″

This is the least expensive model that I recommend, that offers good everyday performance. Sure, there are slightly less expensive models, but they are equipped with slow mechanical hard drives for their storage, making the whole PC feel slow and not responsive.

It is equipped with a modern Intel Core architecture based Pentium Gold 6405U 2 Cores/4 threads CPU, which is capable of handling everyday tasks such as watching videos, listening to music, running Microsoft Office, e-mails and web browsing.

It only comes with 4GB of RAM, which is fine for web browsing, as long as you don’t open too many tabs. RAM is easy to upgrade, via an access hatch on the back. There’s an emoty RAM slot, so you can simply add a 4GB DDR4 2666MHz SO-DIMM stick to get 8GB of RAM.

It also features a nice sleek design, which looks a lot better than bland black boxes, in my humble opinion. The monitor bezel are very thin.

Also, unlike many low cost models, it is equipped with a SSD, which means that your computer is a lot more responsive than models equipped with omly hard drives, which I simply no longer recommend nowadays.
You have a mix of a 64GB SSD and a 500GB hard drive. With a storage capacity of 564GB, you should have enough storage for most needs, otherwise you can always add an external drive.

Despite being a low-cost model, you get a fairly large size 23.8″ Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution screen, with an IPS display panel which offers a vibrant color reproduction, great contrasts and large view angles.

Pros:

  1. Great cost for what this model comes with.
  2. Intel Pentium Gold 6405U Dual-Core + Hyper-Threading 2.4GHz
  3. Large 27″ display with a Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution
  4. IPS display panel : vibrant colors, great contrasts and large view angles.
  5. RAM access hatch makes adding RAM easy
  6. Empty RAM slot
  7. RAM can be upgraded to 64GB (2x32GB)
  8. 64GB SSD for fast booting and a responsive PC
  9. 500GB 7200rpm hard drive for additional storage
  10. WiFi 5 (802.11ac)
  11. Bluetooth 5.0
  12. 6 x USB ports: 4x 3.0 and 2x 2.0 type-A ports.
  13. HDMI video output
  14. RJ-45 Ethernet port
  15. Very thin screen bezels
  16. Windows 10 Pro
  17. Wired keyboard and mouse are included

Cons:

  1. Only 4GB of RAM (1x4GB), but easy to upgrade to adding a memory stick though the access hatch.
  2. No built-in webcam
  3. No built-in microphones
  4. No DVD drive
  5. No USB Type-C
  6. No HDMI Input
