The Best Prebuilt Budget Gaming PCs?

By that, I mean the prebuilt Gaming PCs that offer the best performance at prices from $480 to $850.

Why write this article?

How much time do you have to research the best computer?

Many of us don’t have much time to read, or the knowledge to understand, detailed computer specifications nor reviews and just want to know:
What’s the best budget gaming PC for my needs?

I’m here to help you with this article. I believe that you deserve the computer that is the best for your needs. That way, your computer is working for you and not the other way around. This allows you to focus your full potential on realizing what you want, without being limited by your computer.

With 18 years of experience with computer hardware, researching, always up-to-date research with the newest parts, performance and prices, I know what matters in a computer.
See my About page for more information on me, Mathieu Bourgie, and this website, Hardware Revolution

I recommend the computers that offer the best performance at a given price, without sacrificing reliability of course.

Alternatives recommendations:

I also sometimes suggest alternative recommendations, with clear explanations as to why they are interesting alternatives.

Tiny Gaming PC, ideal for the living room, office

CUK Axiom TS Tiny Gamer

About the CUK Axiom TS Tiny Gamer

Compared to the model above, this gaming PC is a notch slower in video games, but features a more powerful CPU, making it more powerful for general applications and CPU heavy games, it’s offered in a smaller package and it’s brand new, as opposed to refurbished for the model above.

Ideal for gaming on a 1366 x 768 monitor or on a 720p HD HDTV.

Playing at a resolution of 1920 x 1080, also known as 1080p or Full HD, is possible with video games with less demanding requirements. However, this will require you to lower graphic details settings and it may still be unplayable for the most demanding games, so see my recommendations above or below for more powerful Gaming PCs.

It’s also a fine choice for a small business, home office, storefront or media PC, offering plenty of performance in a small format, with a low power consumption.

Its 3 years warranty is a nice pro.

Despite its entry-level cost, this gaming PC combines a perfectly good AMD Ryzen 3.6-3.9GHz Quad-Core CPU, along with an AMD Radeon Vega 11 integrated graphic card, which offers gaming performance close to the dedicated NVIDIA Geforce GT 1030 2GB graphic card, 8GB of RAM which is sufficient for casual gaming and most tasks.

A 1TB (1000GB) hybrid hard drive takes care of storage. It offers sufficient storage capacity for a decent game library, along with automatic caching of the most used files, effectively reducing loading time for Windows and the most used applications.

Gaming at a 4K resolution?
Want to play at a 4K resolution? This is the wrong article for you, see the Best Prebuilt Extreme PCs for Gaming and Creative Pros instead.

  2. Outstanding low cost for prebuilt Gaming PC.
  3. Good CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2400G 3.6-3.9GHz, 4 cores, 8 threads support
  4. Great integrated graphic card: AMD Radeon Vega 11 704 GPU Cores, 1250MHz base frequency
  5. 8GB of RAM DDR4 3000MHz
  6. Included USB 802.11ac WiFi adapter
  7. 1TB Hybrid hard drive (SSHD) combines decent storage capacity with automatic caching to reduce loading time of the most used files.
  8. Front of the case has one USB 3.0, one USB 2.0, audio in and audio out ports.
  9. Back of the case features 4x USB 3.1 (Gen1), 2x USB 2.0, 1x DVI-D, 1x VGA, 1x HDMI, 1x RJ-45 and audio ports
  10. VGA, DVI and HDMI video outputs
  11. Windows 10
  12. A low, combined, CPU and graphic, 65W TDP, means that your PC won’t warm up the room too much.
  13. Low power consumption = lower utility bill.
  14. 3 years warranty from Computer Upgrade King

Cons:

  1. Limited video game performance at Full HD/1080p: Due to the integrated graphic card, while it’s one of the best integrated video card, it’s still no where as powerful as a decent dedicated video card.
  2. No optical (DVD) disk drive. Use an USB external disk drive if you need one.
  3. Keyboard and mouse are not included
  4. No VGA, DVI or HDMI cables are included, get your own.
  5. Small case limits and small power supply (200W) limits the possibility of upgrades.
  6. There’s only one 2.5″ drive bay and it is already used by the 1TB hybrid hard drive (SSHD), limiting the storage capabilities, outside of using an external drive.
  7. Bright blue LEDs might be annoying. They flash when the PC is on standby (sleep). Expert tip: Black electric tape is a simple, cost-effective and safe way to cover those LEDs and block the light.

  2. No card reader

Ideal for gaming at 1920 x 1080 or on a 1080p HDTV with higher frame rates, the AMD Radeon RX 580 4GB offers better gaming performance than the Radeon RX 570 found in the recommendation above, or the Nvidia 1060 3GB (which is slower than the GTX 1060 6GB). Having more VRAM(4GB vs 3GB) will often help maintain performance with newer games using more memory.
